Action Items

Policy Updates from KASB

The Board reviewed policy updates provided by the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB). These updates include recommended revisions to existing policies.

  • Policies CD and CGI were consolidated under CG to ensure consistency and reduce redundancy in administrative personnel policies.

  • DFH – Fundraising: This optional policy remains under review, with discussions continuing regarding student prom and senior trip eligibility for those who choose not to participate in fundraising activities.

Ray Scholarship Selection Date

The Board set the date for the Ray Scholarship selection session for Tuesday, March 11th, in the evening.

Roof Replacement Timeline Approval

Following an independent structural inspection by KDK Engineering, supported by EMC Insurance, the Board approved moving forward with a TPO roof covering for the high school gym, junior high, and cafeteria. The construction and financing timelines will be carefully coordinated in the coming months to ensure proper implementation.

Performance Center Fitness Equipment for Staff & Students

The Board decided to table the purchase of Performance Center fitness equipment pending the outcome of a grant application. The district has applied for funding, that grant does cover fitness equipment. The Board reviewed quotes for both refurbished equipment ($10,600) and new equipment ($22,000) and will revisit the purchase decision once grant results are available.
