Way to go Pleasanton!!! So far we have collected 211 food items for our food drive. A week and a half to go. Let’s keep those food items coming. Right now Mrs. Lovell’s class is in the lead with 71 items.

This is a friendly reminder that grade school and high school picture retakes will be held tomorrow, November 29th. If you want picture retakes for your child, you will need to bring back your original picture packet. Thank you.

PES Parents,
For those who have not yet registered for SchoolStore and are interested in supporting Pleasanton Elementary while doing some regular on-line Christmas shopping, I have attached a letter with information that includes a QR code. When you shop online with this program at stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Kohl’s, along with hundreds of others, a small percentage of the purchase goes back to the school (1% - 10%). If you are already planning to shop on-line at these stores, it just makes sense to help out the school. This program will extend beyond Christmas and into the next school year.
If you do not have a child attending our school, but would like to sign up, either contact a parent that has an account or contact Danita in the front office.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great time shopping for Christmas.
Thank you for your support!

Good morning. Today we are still experiencing many students and staff absent from sickness. School will not be in session Friday in hopes of giving everyone extended time to get well.

Good morning. As most of you know we have several folks out sick. We are taking the day off Wednesday so that we can have our custodial staff deep clean the buildings. STARS students will still have classes in the morning at the STARS facility.

This is a friendly reminder. Due to a shortage in bus drivers, there will be a change to the Pleasanton bus stops in town. The bus will pick up and drop off students at the following four locations: Miami and Laurel, Kansas Street, Dollar General, and the Pleasanton Museum on Park street. This change will take effect on Monday morning, November 14th.

Come on down to the high school commons for the USD 344 Benefit Sale. We are open until 2PM.

I am super proud of our local Boy Scouts for getting up early this cold morning and setting up flags for our Veterans.

Bicycle Safety Day in PE. Great class by our SRO Deputy, Robert Lake. Also, a HUGE thank you to our Linn County Children’s Coalition. We have received funding to raffle bike accessories, repairs, and even a few new bikes. Students can increase their chances of winning by knowing and showing bike safety and safety in general around cars. Our students are excited about this and we hope that this can have an ongoing impact on bike safety in our community.

Pleasanton Elementary continues to offer engaging activities that challenge our students and enrich their education. Below are some of the activities that some of our new specials teachers are offering.

The students are very proud of their academic accomplishments. Before getting into the bus this morning, they cheered for their success and congratulated their teachers for doing so well on their Kansas Math Assessment last spring. These kids collectively scored significantly higher than any other group of students on this test since it was launched in 2015. Every class was at or above the state average with some grade levels well above the state average. Our community should be very proud of this accomplishment.
Go Blu-Jays!!!

In the afternoon, we swam at the pool for 2 hours. The kids had a blast diving off the platforms, sliding down the water slides, climbing the rock wall, and lounging in the lazy river.

We had a great time at the park and the Olathe Community Center pool. In the morning the students played on the playground and enjoyed a show from the Blue Angels. We were able to enjoy the Blue Angels show at a discounted rate.
