We are proud of our Blu-Jay CC athletes. We have seen some excellent runs this year and tons of improvement throughout the season. Baileigh Lister, Morgan Mason, Gauge Cowan, and Gavin Lawson all finished with a strong season yesterday. Kei-Mahni Davis, Benson Meik, and DJ Meik will go on and represent our district at the regional meet next Saturday. Way to go Blu-Jays!!!

We have a few budding elementary school principals. Ezra Hall, Waylon Schlemper, and Ms. McClendon are excellent Mr. Meik impersonators. Perhaps if I am out sick, I will hire one of them as my substitute.

Our first grade students are working on their forward and backward somersaults during a PE lesson with Mr. Ballinger (2.0). What a fantastic lesson.

I am please to announce that we have exceeded the 150 book challenge for the week. Way to go students, teachers, and parents. The book counter shows 188 books and we have an additional 40 books that are not in the system. That puts us at 228 books. By the end of the week, we could potentially double our goal.
Way to go Blu Jays!!!!

A huge thank you to Heather Atherton for arranging our trip to Prairie View tomorrow. It is an awesome opportunity for our elementary and high school students. Also, a special thanks to Mrs. Uphoff, Prairie View Librarian. She was kind enough to invite our school to participate.

More from Mrs. Atherton's class.....

We are #chasinggreatness in Mrs. Atherton's 5th & 6th grade science class. The latest lab was bouncy balls. The students had a fantastic time continuing their exploration of the stages of matter and chemical/physical reactions.

Our football team has been #ChasingGreatness lately on and off the field. One of our school-wide expectations is to "take care of each other", these gentlemen have gone above and beyond to make sure one of our 7th graders, Kam, feels like he is a Blu-Jay! Bryce, Taryn, and Blake started playing basketball with Kam each day after lunch and it has grown into a team effort, love seeing the leadership in our students!

In partnership with the Booster Club the PHS Cheerleaders are selling tickets to a gun raffle. Tickets can be purchased from any PHS Cheerleader. Winners will be drawn at the half time of the football game on October 13.

Dear Pleasanton Families,
A boil warning is still in order. If possible, please have your child bring a bottle of water to school tomorrow. We will also have water and will provide bottled water as needed to your child.

Science rules!!! Mrs. Atherton's science class makes elephant toothpaste.

Humpty Dumpty continued.......

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.......
We love Pleasanton Pre-school!!!!

Tomorrow is Pajama Day. Can't wait to wear my PJ's to school.

A fantastic 9th place run for Baileigh Lister. This was a wonderful performance at the Ft. Scott invitational where she was competing against much larger 4A competition. Well done Baileigh!!!!

The Oobleck lab in Mrs. Atherton's Science class was a hit. Students are learning about the different states of matter. According to the University of New Hampshire, Oobleck happens to be a non-Newtonian fluid, having properties of both a liquid and a solid. This was an excellent lab, with memorable and meaningful connections with the lesson.

Friendly reminder:
The Pleasanton Elementary PTO will be meeting tonight at 7 PM at the elementary school.
The PTO meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7PM. All are welcome.

Always love the positive vibes put out by our cafeteria staff. Amazingly, they serve over 500 meals each day and continue to wear a big smile for our students and staff each day.
The picture below is the work of Kyla Green. These positive messages make every salad served a perfect meal. A big thank you to our cafeteria team.
