Pleasanton USD 344 Announces Kevin Coker as New Pleasanton Secondary Principal for the 2026–2027 School Year

Pleasanton USD 344 is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Kevin Coker as the next Principal of Pleasanton High School, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
A proud graduate of Pleasanton USD 344, Mr. Coker returns home with a deep passion for serving the students, staff, and community that helped shape his life. “I am most excited about the chance to come home and serve the community that helped shape me into the person I am today. Pleasanton means a lot to me, and I would not be where I am today without the people who poured into me, challenged me, and supported me along the way. To now have the opportunity to come back and do that for the next generation of Blu-Jays is something I am incredibly excited about and do not take lightly.” His commitment to education, leadership, and student success reflects the values and traditions of Blu-Jay Nation.
Mr. Coker brings an impressive background in educational leadership, school culture development, student engagement, and athletic program management. He currently serves at Piper High School as a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and teacher, where he oversees a comprehensive athletic performance program serving more than 400 students annually. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong ability to build relationships, strengthen school culture, and create systems that support student growth and achievement.
In addition to his educational leadership experience, Mr. Coker has served on district leadership committees focused on school culture, supplemental salary review, and PBIS implementation. He has also participated in the Pirates LEAD Aspiring Administrators Cohort, further preparing him for transformational school leadership.
Mr. Coker earned both his Bachelor of Science in History Education and Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Pittsburg State University. His extensive experience in teaching, coaching, and mentoring students across Kansas schools has built a strong foundation for leading Pleasanton High School into the future.
“Kevin’s passion for students, commitment to relationships, and vision for student success make him an outstanding fit for Pleasanton USD 344,” said Don Epps. “We are excited to welcome one of our own back home to lead Pleasanton 7–12 and continue building upon the strong traditions of Blu-Jay Nation.”
Please join Pleasanton USD 344 in welcoming Mr. Kevin Coker and his family back to the Blu-Jay community.
